Brake pads from China.
Crafted with care: brake pads for almost any application – from passenger cars to commercial vehicles. For original equipment and the aftermarket.

In short
BayPex brake pads come from a specialised friction material manufacturer in China that supplies original equipment manufacturers and develops friction compounds for each application in its own R&D centre.
We supply disc brake pads for passenger cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles – as original equipment (OEM) to customer specification or as replacement parts for the aftermarket. The friction compound is matched to the vehicle, duty cycle and requirements for noise, wear and temperature stability.
For the European aftermarket, replacement brake pads require approval under UN Regulation No. 90 (ECE R90). We clarify before quoting whether a pad is already approved or needs approval as part of the project.

ECE R90: what applies to brake pads in Europe
Replacement brake pads for vehicle categories M, N and O may only be placed on the EU market with approval under UN Regulation No. 90. The test checks whether friction level, speed sensitivity and cold performance of the replacement pad match the original part. The approval number is marked on the pad and the packaging.
Original equipment additionally requires the respective vehicle manufacturer's release. We agree the evidence your programme needs with you and the manufacturer before quoting.
FAQ: brake pads from China
Last updated: 11 September 2026
Are brake pads from China approved in Europe?
Replacement brake pads for the European market need approval under UN Regulation No. 90 (ECE R90); the approval number is marked on the pad and packaging. Country of origin doesn't matter – passing the test does. Original equipment is governed by the vehicle manufacturer's release.
What is the difference between OEM and aftermarket brake pads?
OEM pads are made to the vehicle manufacturer's specification for series assembly. Aftermarket pads are replacement parts for the independent market and need ECE R90 approval in Europe. BayPex sources both.
Does BayPex supply brake pads for commercial vehicles?
Yes. Our partner manufactures brake pads for almost any application from passenger cars to commercial vehicles, including vans, trucks and buses.
What information do you need for a quotation?
Vehicle or axle application or reference numbers (e.g. OE numbers), preferred friction material, quantities per item, packaging requirements and delivery terms.
How is brake pad quality assured?
Samples are tested to your requirements before series release, for example for friction level, wear and noise behaviour. We agree inspection scope and documentation before project start; BayPex handles ongoing coordination with the manufacturer.
